Butternut box to present dog bravery award at Woofstock festival

A social media post and last-minute sponsorship saved the dog-friendly music festival from cancellation, and ensured one lucky pup free food for a year.

LONDON, UK, August 5, 2021 - This weekend, Butternut Box will be presenting The Butternut Box Bravery Award at the Woofstock festival in Dartmouth - providing Hopper, the three-legged dog rescued from horrific conditions in Spain, with a free year’s subscription of their fresh-enough-for-humans dog food.

Driven by its founding purpose - delivering health and happiness to dogs and their humans all over the world - the fresh dog food company makes charitable donations all year round. For every Butternut Box purchased, one free meal is donated to a charity partner: Foal farm, Mayhew Animal Shelter, Wild at Heart and/or Dogs for Rescue. After hearing that Woofstock, the non-profit music festival for dogs and their pet-parents, was in danger of cancellation - Butternut Box stepped in to make sure the tails of all attendees kept on wagging.

Sarah Stapely, Event Coordinator at Butternut Box, says: “After a team member brought it to our attention, we knew we had to do something. We had already planned to attend the event, but after hearing such a brilliant, non-profit festival was in danger of not going ahead, we wanted to do whatever we could to help”.

The Woofstock festival, held at Oldstone Farm in Dartmouth, was nearly cancelled due to COVID-related cancellations causing costs to sky-rocket. At their wit’s end, event organisers took to social media to share their concerns, and were taken aback by the outflow of support.

Heather Nesbitt-Bayley, Managing Director behind Woofstock says: “With Covid having taken a hold on the entire events industry, and the escalating costs of holding a festival this year, we were put in a position of having to consider cancelling. Butternut Box reached out to support us having attended the event in previous years, and we were overwhelmed by their support.”

Butternut Box will be at the Woofstock festival Friday the 6th August to Sunday the 8th August, giving away goodies and awards for deserving dogs throughout the weekend.
